Whether it’s within you or right next to you…

There is so much you miss when

you only orient to a more desirable future.

Focusing heavily on the future at the cost of your current experience usually leads to the inability to handle getting what you want.

Manifesting what you already have is where things get super juicy, and it requires exploring your capacity for what’s already present.

Join us as we let our bodies show us their capacity through constriction and expansion, pleasure and pain.

About The Teacher

My name is Luis Mojica (pronounced Lew-Eace {rhymes with peace} Mo-hee-ka). I teach people how to release stress and trauma through listening to their bodies.

I'm not here to change you or judge you. My work is all about teaching. I give you the language, the practices, and the space to learn how to communicate with your body & mind.

I come to this work from a deeply personal experience with suffering and healing. I didn’t read it in a book - I lived it. I know suffering well and I know bliss well. I will teach you as best as I can to find your bliss and transform out of suffering.

Safety comes from inside of our bodies.

Think of all the times your environment was peaceful or you were around loving people, yet your body was still bracing or experiencing anxiety. There’s a good reason for this.

When we have trauma and chronic stress, our bodies live in a state of bracing from remembered and expected threats. Our nervous systems are often more attuned to dangers than to positive events.

This doesn’t happen because we’re negative or broken; it's simply the body prioritizing survival, sometimes to the point of not recognizing that it is already safe.

My name is Luis Mojica.

I’m a somatic therapist and trauma-focused nutritionist.

Before I learned the language of my body, I was overwhelmed by chronic illness, debilitating fear, and near-constant anxiety.

I never thought I’d have the capacity for the path I’m on today: teaching people around the world, running a business, performing music on-stage, being a husband and parent. I may have desired those things, but they were beyond my capacity.

For so long, I lived from a place of constriction. Feeling unsafe, my body would brace against real or perceived threats to protect itself — which led to more overwhelm, numbness, and exhaustion. Like many people, my response to this was self-judgment and shame.

That changed when I finally started listening to my body.

Through somatic experiencing, I came to understand how trauma gets stored in the body and how to release it. Through somatic nutrition, I realized how to support and repair my adrenals and nervous system. Through the language of sensation, I learned how to receive the body’s important messages.

This shared wisdom has led to nourishing and relating to my body in a different way, which in turn has expanded my capacity to include so many things I could not do, imagine, or feel before. Life has become more expansive, more embodied, and more authentic.

As I’ve made friends with the body, I’ve been able to find safety within myself no matter what’s in front of me. Today, when I notice a big fear, anxiety, or sensation arise, I have the resources to meet them with curiosity and acceptance.

The soft, deep, relaxed parts of your body are here right now.

The soft, deep, relaxed parts of your body are here right now.

When you can hold them in the present, you’re able to anchor into your current environment and settle.

In that settling, something amazing happens: you actually build more capacity.

The ManiFESTival is a 4-hour, sliding scale event that will dive into the practices, philosophies, and perspectives of manifesting through a somatic lens with Luis Mojica, Nisha Mody, and James-Olivia Hillman!

You’ll Begin Learning To:

  • Become aware of your bodily sensations, so you can begin relating to them instead of repressing or reacting automatically.

  • Build resilience to stressful situations by learning to recognize and regulate your body’s responses.

  • Create a felt experience of safety within yourself, regardless of external circumstances.

  • Release trapped emotions and tension in your body, allowing more relaxation and flow.

  • Reclaim your capacity to FEEL FULLY without getting overwhelmed — from sadness and pain to joy and pleasure.

Benefits

Through the Foundations of

3 Powerful Modalities

Somatic Experiencing

Reconnect With Your Body

Somatic practices help with releasing tension that was stored in the body during stressful and traumatic experiences.

This helps your body complete the natural healing process that was interrupted due to overwhelm, allowing you to move out of a state of near-constant threat and into a state of calm.

Trauma Focused Nutrition

Nourish Your Body

Foods can support your nervous system and adrenals in creating a biochemical state of balance and resilience.

This compliments somatic practices by boosting your capacity to metabolize stress, handle big sensations, and process emotions.

Embodied Parts Work

Befriend Your Body

Parts work invites you to befriend the protective and wounded parts of yourself that formed in response to pain or fear.

By meeting these parts with compassion and understanding, you can shift long-standing patterns of self-sabotage and shame to kindness and self-acceptance.

Together, these create a holistic approach that nurtures the connection of your mind and body, so you can better navigate life’s inevitable surprises.

During our Six Weeks together
we will…

Learn how to speak the
Language of the Body:

Experience safety by developing a predictable, ongoing connection with the ‘self’ — We will set the foundations for a physical state of safety that isn't dependent on outside variables, but through connection to the safety that's already inside of you.

Understand trauma
somatically & holistically

You will develop ‘the language of sensation’ in your own life and learn to speak it innately and fluently.

This allows your body to become a brilliant compass as you navigate decisions around your healing journey & your life.

How nutrition affects our healing & stress levels

Learn to gently nudge your body away from adrenaline spikes and triggering substances with whole food nutrition - so that you can make room to attune to the biological state of peace and appreciate its gifts.

Techniques to move stuck trauma & stress in the body.

Begin using somatic practices to work with sensation in your body, and replace unhelpful patterns that ‘numb’ agitation with a life-serving body based toolkit.

Learn to listen to your body & create a more loving relationship with yourself.

Feel into the experience of finding balance and safety within your own body.  We will often ask the question:

“Am I attuning to peace or stress?”

Self inquiry, and our focus on it, means that this work is fundamentally self-led. You will be able to go where you need to go based on your own desires and capacity.

How our thoughts & meanings impact our physical bodies.

Through an active study of the mind-body connection, you will begin to recognize how to transform old triggers, uncouple stressful meaning-making from daily events, and build your capacity for joy and pleasure.

You will spend time learning how to notice when you’re co-regulating with the world around you, or co-dysregulating with it

This work is Inherently Decolonial.

Colonization has divided the body from the mind. A practice of somatic decolonization is one that no longer views the mind as supreme - but instead views the body as inherently sacred and of equal value to the mind.

This means listening to its boundaries and relating to the body instead of forcing it to work for you.

This decolonial work asks the question: am I in relationship with or am I in dominance over? As we heal this connection between our minds and bodies, we start to heal it amongst one another and the land itself..

The Heart of Each Week

Week 1

What Is Trauma & What Is Safety?

Learn to Speak the Language of the Body

Week One of my self-led course begins with walking you into the world of trauma, safety, and the most common misconceptions about them.

Then, you’ll learn the most essential practice - tracking your body.

This means noticing how your body speaks in different ways:

  • How do unpleasant emotions and sensations like anxiety and fear move through you?

  • How does pleasure and safety move through you?

  • How does numbness appear in your body when you go into emotional states or access a memory?

You’ll also learn how to pendulate (shift) from unpleasant to pleasant sensations and begin guiding your body to states of safety.

This allows you to lay down the foundation for the four weeks ahead.

Week 2

The Relationship Between Food & Trauma

Eating For The Nervous System

Week Two we get into the relationship between our food choices and emotional well-being. Foods and food rituals directly affect your nervous system - some stimulate (stress) it, some depress (numb) it, and some balance (regulate) it.

Understanding this gives you a new resource to support your body in processing trauma and returning to a state of peace.

We’ll also explore the emotional roots of cravings and how binge eating or turning to food is often connected to unmet needs within.

This will help you make more conscious, nourishing choices rather than reflexively reaching for foods that don’t serve you.

Week 3

The Somatics of Relationships

How They Can Activate or Regulate

Week Three is about how our bodies respond to our environment: people, animals, activities, spaces, sounds, etc.

Our past experiences shape how we relate to others and feel in different environments, even without realizing it.

You will learn about co-regulation, auto-regulation, and co-dysregulation. These are ways to describe how our bodies feel—whether calm or stressed—when we're with someone or doing something.

By becoming aware of these patterns, you’ll be able to make more conscious choices about where you spend your time, who you spend it with, and which activities truly support you.

Week 4

Self-Regulation & Intuition

Let Your Body’s Wisdom Emerge

Week Four we learn that self-regulation is the capacity, instinct, and confidence to meet stress, anxiety, or fear when it comes up.

This week, you will learn how to guide your body and move through these big sensations without reflexively numbing or distracting yourself.

You'll begin to understand and eventually experience what it's like to let your body's instinct and innate wisdom emerge when you feel stress and overwhelm.

The intention is that you leave this week with foundational tools to guide your body into a state of safety and peace that doesn’t depend on external circumstances.

What You Will Be Learning Weekly

Seven weeks to learn, a lifetime to practice.

Week 1:

The Biology Of Trauma & Safety:

Learn how to speak the Language of the Body

You will learn what happens in the body during a traumatic event.

We will also explore the biology, felt sense, and expressions of stored trauma as well as safety, survival, and peace.

Experience safety by developing an embodied connection with the ‘self’ — we will set the foundations for a physical state of safety that isn't dependent on outside variables, but through connection to the safety that's already inside of you.

Week 2:

The Quiet Diet

How nutrition affects our healing & stress levels

We will learn how certain foods & food rituals can turn our trauma responses and stress levels up or down.

Integrating whole food nutrition brings a biological balance that gives your body support to take on this trauma healing work.

Learn to gently nudge your body away from adrenaline spikes and triggering substances with whole food nutrition - so that you can make room to attune to the biological state of peace and appreciate its gifts.

Week 3:

How We Relate To Our Stress

Techniques to move stuck trauma & stress in the body.

Regulation is just another way to describe a relationship. Learning how we relate to our stress through devices, foods, and people begins to map out which rituals and habits of ours build our capacity and which numb us out and lower our capacity.

We learn the difference between co-regulation and co-dependence, as well as the innocence and sophistication of our coping mechanisms — as well as new ways to find safety and not just cope.

Begin using somatic practices to work with sensation in your body, and replace unhelpful patterns that ‘numb’ agitation with a life-serving body based toolkit.

Week 4:

Integration Week

During this integration week, we will take this time to review the first 3 weeks and notice what’s landing and what is not.

We will explore this in a 90-minute integration call with 30-minute breakout groups at the end.

We will also offer a live sound healing to help your body “feel” more than think. This pause is helpful before diving into the next 3 weeks.

Week 5:

Our Subconscious Bodies

Learn to create a more loving relationship with yourself.

We will explore how the body IS the subconscious. It holds meanings, thoughts, beliefs, and memories that are not conscious to our minds. These create a biology of stress and imbalance.

Learning how to use sensations as a doorway to the body allows us to directly communicate with our subconscious somatically without drudging painful experiences back up.

Feel into the experience of finding balance and safety within your own body.  We will often ask the question: “Am I attuning to peace or stress?”

Self inquiry, and our focus on it, means that this work is fundamentally self-led. You will be able to go where you need to go based on your own desires and capacity.

Week 6:

Meaning Creates
Our Biology

How our thoughts & meanings impact our physical bodies.

We learn how meaning becomes both an identity and a way of being.

We learn how to use triggers to our benefit, uncouple stressful meanings from daily events, and build our capacity for joy and pleasure.

Through an active study of the mind-body connection, you will begin to recognize how to transform old triggers, uncouple stressful meaning-making from daily events, and build your capacity for joy and pleasure.

You will spend time learning how to notice when you’re co-regulating with the world around you, or co-dysregulating with it.

Week 7:

Self-Regulation

Developing the Practice of Self-Relating for a lifetime.

After exploring the body and the mind, we will deepen our understanding of releasing trauma and stress from our bodies through specific exercises that prompt self-regulation:

The experience of finding balance and safety within, and from your own body, is one that is both sustainable and truly life-changing.

Sun, July 2nd

Body Trauma: It's Not Only Caused By Assault

Most people with symptoms of trauma do not have memory of assault or haven't experienced physical assault. This email will teach you the many ways that your body can develop body trauma so that you can begin understanding your confusing relationship to sensuality and desire.

Email 2:
Wed, July 5th

Somatic Video Practice: Constriction As Bracing & Protection

Constriction is how the body shows us it is scared and protecting itself. Most physical trauma presents as constriction in the pelvis and/or other places in the body during intimacy or even at the thought of physical intimacy. This practice will teach you how to tend to these places so they can, eventually, release.

Email 3:
Sun, July 9th

Reflexive Fawning: What Do You Actually Desire?

For many of us, fawning becomes our primary way of relating and we lose our own body and desire by prioritizing the other's. This practice will get you back in touch with your physical needs and desires. Read more on reflexive fawning here.

Email 4:
Wed, July 12th

Somatic Video Practice: Building Your Capacity For Pleasure

Pleasure takes capacity because it is sensational. With physical trauma, pleasure is often overcoupled with threat. This practice will help you start accessing the places inside your body that have capacity for pleasure and how to tend to those places so that more of you can experience pleasure.

Email 5:
Sun, July 16th

Kink & Trauma: Empowering Or Trauma Re-Enacting?

The body will often overcouple threatening experiences with arousal. This means our kinks can be directly derived from traumatic events and they have the ability of empowering us or retraumatizing us. This email will help you navigate the difference.

Email 6:
Wed, July 19th

Somatic Video Practice: Uncoupling Turn On From Stress & Fear

Overcouplings are like being programmed. My turn on might be attached to fear and so I require thrill and fearful experiences to find pleasure, or I choose partners that create fear in my body. This video will help you learn how to begin identifying these overcouplings and how to begin pulling them apart so you can experience your turn on without it being attached to something painful.

Team

You’ll also be learning with

The HLN team:

Evan Glenn Adams

I am a sound healing practitioner who incorporates somatic experiencing and hypnosis into my approach.

During the course, I offer weekly sound healings as a space for you to explore your inner experience and deepen your relationship with your body.

Growing up, I had multiple undiagnosed conditions, including Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Fibromyalgia, and allergies.

Luis' unique approach to trauma therapy has been eye-opening for me, and I’m excited to share this journey with you.

Marika Malaea

When I'm not running Holistic Life Navigation, you will find me practicing somatics, writing screenplays, and probably eating cheese.

As a self-described freeze queen, what I've learned from Luis has helped me move past being stuck in that forever trauma response and out into a new world of repair, support, self-love, and opportunity.

Befriending my body is the smartest thing I've ever done. In this course, I’m a part of the Q&A sessions.

Camille Leak (she/her)

I'm the Assistant Teacher and Community Manager for this course. I got into trauma healing, facilitation, and community management because I love asking the kinds of questions that help people reach those 'a-ha!' moments. I'm also a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Facilitator.

Throughout the course, I'll be offering additional perspectives during the lectures and participating in the weekly Q&A sessions."

  • The next 6-week Winter course begins on April 8th.

    Week 1: 4/6, 4/5, 4/6

    Week 2: 4/9, 4/11, 4/12, 4/13

    Week 3: 4/16, 4/18, 4/19, 4/20

    Week 4: 4/23, 4/25, 4/26, 4/27

    Week 5: 4/30, 5/2, 5/4, 5/5

    Week 6: 5/7, 5/9, 5/10, 5/11

    Week 7: 5/14, 5/16, 5/17

  • Within the live 6-week experience, there are different levels of support you get access to:

    • Support within our community platform, Circle, through public commenting and private DM’s on the team. Even if you want to remain anonymous within the community, you can DM anyone on the team for private support.

    • Tech support via phone and email from Evan all through the 6 weeks.

    • Backend administrative support from Marika.

    • Emotional support from the entire team.

    • If you would like deeper 1:1 support you can hire someone from the team or practitioners list for private sessions, who are well versed in the HLN philosophies and have been vetted by Luis.

  • This is an understandable and common fear. Because these classes are recorded, you can pace yourself based on your capacity.

Some people find that they need the support of a professional while taking the course, others just need more time.

This work doesn't promise safety, but it does give you many tools to cultivate your capacity to feel the things inside of you that seem scary and impossible to feel.

  • The program is designed as a foundational look into trauma healing - we don’t go into specific areas, such as sexual trauma, or eating disorders etc.

Each individual brings their subject to the course. It’s created as a container to teach from the body - and then whatever is in your body, in your experience, you can bring to the Wednesday discussion and practice circles, or bring to the online conversation, and I will speak to those questions and work with more specifics.

But the course itself is a foundation for teaching how we relate to trauma (regardless of what kind) inside of your body.

  • That’s why I got into this work. Somatic work doesn’t need context to the subject matter. It was created to help people who didn’t have context.

Whether it’s ancestral trauma, intergenerational trauma, pre-verbal trauma, we may not have firm memories, but we do have all the residual symptoms of these events.

Whether you know about it or not, this course is designed to hold it.

You will still get the same result - relationship building with that part of you, with or without context.

  • One thing I want to stress is that these 6 weeks are not therapy.

We’re using some real life material so it will be personal and apply to you absolutely - but if you’re in the midst of some serious hardship or trauma, dealing with daily panic attacks or even suicidal ideation, any kind of edge that feels too overwhelming to handle, I always recommend having someone who can do this with you.

    Whether it’s a partner, a mentor, a therapist, a doctor, or coach.

If you're new to somatic work, getting in touch with your body can be big and intense. You might want additional support.

Traumahealing.org - is where you can find a practitioner to work with one on one, and many students have worked with a private practitioner there while taking my course.

  • Hundreds of people who experience dissociation have gone through this course without any problems.

There is no guarantee of how you will emerge from this space, but you are definitely welcome here.

  • Of course. I felt much the same when I began this work. I like to remember that what trauma equals, is stored threat.

The state you were in during the event gets stored in your body. When you’re doing this work, you actually begin to feel it, and that can be incredibly scary at first. The community inside of this course, as well as the support from me and my team, PLUS the exercises and work, are so solid that most people have felt very safe and held through the 6-weeks.

If this is a fear though, we want you to have some safe space you lean on to work with what comes up, one on one, with a partner, friend, or therapist. If you’re currently looking for support from a somatic experiencing therapist please visit the directory at traumahealing.org.

  • No. I am a trained Somatic Experiencing Practitioner but these 6-weeks are not therapy.

They are teachings of the tools I have learned and developed so that you can apply them to your life and your own healing work
