Somatic Decolonization [Webinar Replay]
In this webinar, I discuss the practice of decolonization in the body. Colonization is when one culture of people, or nation, dominate another through taking their land, languages, and assimilating their culture to the dominant one.
Decolonization is the act of returning land to its original inhabitants and, essentially, relinquishing and vacating the colony. This practice I’m teaching is different from the political & legal act of decolonization.
I find this practice important because we have developed in the waters of dominance. As an American, that is what my country is founded on - dominating others. How has that affected me? How do I dominate myself and others? How has domination become an unspoken cultural norm?
This webinar will teach you about the practice of decolonizing your body, which really means seeing your body as a relative instead of a thing that’s here to work for you. How to be in relationship with yourself, the land, and the living beings around you instead of dominating them.
The result is living in a more symbiotic, interdependent manner with everything around you from first living that way with yourself.
Have a listen to my podcast episode with Amber McZeal so you can begin exploring this concept & practice. She awakened me to this practice and I’m forever grateful.
